The Titanic was an ocean liner of the British White Star Line, in her day one of the largest moving structures in the world. The ship had four funnels, the last of which was a dummy serving as a vent, extensive promenade decks and richly broken-up superstructure. It is exactly these intricate features — railings, stairways, davits, the boat-handling gear and gratings — that are always simplified in plastic, and that is why in large scales they are supplemented with etched and finer parts.
Working with a set of this kind is more demanding than an ordinary build: the original plastic parts often have to be cut off or sanded away so that the more accurate accessory sits in their place. Glue the fine parts with cyanoacrylate; on the faces of large sections a glue with a longer open time is better, so that you have time to align the part. Do the folding in a bending tool or between two blades, otherwise the edges come out uneven. Paint the parts while they are still on the fret or on a stick, because once they are glued on you can hardly reach them.
This is an accessory, not a model of the ship. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
