A Decalcas decal set in 1:24 scale for a model of the Group B MG Metro 6R4. The name connects it with a test car and with the name Ayrton Senna. It is intended for a finished and painted model, not as a kit.
Group B cars attracted drivers from the circuits as well, and test runs with them were a rewarding subject for period reporting. The Metro 6R4 suited such a demonstration particularly well: drive to all the wheels, a naturally aspirated six-cylinder behind the crew and extreme aerodynamics made every run a spectacle even for a spectator who knew nothing about rallying. Test cars meanwhile tended to have different, usually more restrained markings than the machines from the real events – and it is precisely that which is interesting about them for modelers, because such a car is not usually found on the shelves with finished models.
Degrease the body before transferring the markings. Fingerprints and the remains of polishing compound hold on varnish more firmly than it seems, and a motif will not adhere evenly on them; after drying it shows up as milky patches along the edges. A pass with a cloth dampened in clean water with a drop of detergent and perfect drying afterwards are enough.
