Sabelt is an Italian brand that supplies seat belts and seats for racing and sporting cars. A six-point harness holds the driver in the seat with two shoulder, two lap and two crotch straps that come together in a single central buckle. Compared with an ordinary three-point belt it restrains the body over a far greater area and under heavy braking it does not let the driver slide under the belt. Black is one of the most common options for the webbing and suits the interior of a circuit as well as a rally car.
The set brings a scaled-down six-point harness in 1:24 scale in a black finish. It replaces the belts molded directly onto the parts of a kit, which tend to be flat and shapeless. What exactly is in the package and how the individual parts go together is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Fit the belts into a finished and sprayed interior, so that masking and painting cannot damage them. First find the anchor points on the model: the shoulder straps run over the top edge of the seat and backward, the lap straps to the floor beside the sides of the cushion and the crotch straps under the cushion. Let the webbing run naturally, with a little sag and with a bend where it passes over the edge of the seat. A taut, straight strap gives away at once that this is a model. To fix it, a very small amount of cyanoacrylate glue applied with the tip of a toothpick is enough, so that it does not spread over the upholstery.
For modelers who build circuit, rally or modified cars in 1:24 scale and want the cabin worked out as thoroughly as the body. It serves especially well where the model is displayed with the doors open or without a roof and the interior can be seen. This is an accessory to a vehicle model. Paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
