The Ju 88 P-1 is the attack version of the German twin-engine combat aircraft Junkers Ju 88. Under the fuselage it carries a sizeable gondola with a 75 mm cannon, which was meant to let the machine attack ground targets and armored hardware. The gondola markedly changes the silhouette of the lower part of the fuselage and is the main recognition feature of this version, which otherwise derives from ordinary production Ju 88s.
It is a conversion set in 1:32 scale intended for rebuilding Revell Ju-88 A-4 kits into the form of the P-1 version. The set therefore replaces some of the kit parts and adds others. The exact list of contents and the procedure for the exchange are given in the manufacturer's instructions, so go through them before you start cutting into the kit. Check that you have the corresponding kit before buying, because without it you will not make use of the set.
The parts are not polystyrene, so ordinary cement for plastic models has no effect on them. Bond the joints with super glue; on larger mating surfaces a two-part adhesive works well, as it gives you time to position the part. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remainder so that the shape of the edge is not lost. Wash and degrease the parts before painting and let them dry, otherwise the paint takes badly. It pays to put the whole thing together dry as a trial and only then to start modifying the fuselage of the kit.
The package contains the conversion set of parts. The aircraft kit, paints, glue and thinner are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
