MiG-21 Around the World - Vietnam decals in 1:48 scale from the brand Model Maker, for modelers who want to get their Fishbed into Vietnamese markings.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is not a model or a resin accessory but a sheet of waterslide decals for a MiG-21 model in 1:48 scale that is already built and painted. The set from the manufacturer Model Maker belongs to the series devoted to foreign users of the type, this time to the Vietnamese Air Force. How many schemes the sheet offers and which particular aircraft it holds should be checked against the illustration on the packaging.
The MiG-21 became one of the most widespread supersonic fighters of all. A light structure with a delta wing, moderate weight and simple maintenance made it a type that worked well even in a tropical climate and in field conditions. The Vietnamese Air Force was among its long-standing users, and the machines there wore different shades and different fuselage numbers from the European examples, so a model with these markings stands out in any display case.
The method with decals is always the same and it pays not to rush it. First overcoat the painted model with a gloss varnish and let it cure for longer than you feel like. Cut the motif out closely to the printing, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until the film moves freely on its paper. Dampen the surface in advance, slide the decal on with a brush and adjust the position while it is wet. On engraved relief a setting solution and a softener help; once dry the film draws down and the lines show through. Rinse the adhesive residues off and seal the whole model with a matte or semi-matte varnish.
The package holds decals only. The kit, the paints and the varnishes are not supplied with them.
