Replacement barrels in resin for models of the Lightning in 1:32 scale. The product is an accessory for a model under construction, not a standalone kit. The manufacturer keeps two executions, A and B, under the same subject. If you are building a particular machine, compare the shape of the barrels with your own references.
The armament of the Lightning was concentrated in the nose of the central nacelle, so the barrels are the first thing a look at the model from the front catches. With parts from injected plastic the problem is twofold: a mold seam along the whole length, and the fact that a thin and long part fills the mold less well, so it tends to be slightly wavy. A resin casting gives straight geometry and a smooth cylindrical surface. The number of pieces and the rest of the contents of the package are stated on the box.
Washing in lukewarm soapy water removes the remains of the mold release agent and the paint then holds. Separate the parts with a saw with fine teeth and work over a light-colored tray, as a small casting is easily lost. Level the end of the barrel at a right angle to the axis, otherwise a visible tilt will result. Apply super glue in the smallest possible amount with a toothpick, because cyanoacrylate leaves a matte mark on the surrounding clear coat. In color dark steel works, supplemented with a fine sheen on the muzzle. Leave the fitting to the end of the build and handle the finished model by the fuselage, not by the nose.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
