Spitfire Mk.VIII fishtail exhausts in 1:32 scale are resin replacement exhaust stacks from Quickboost for a model of this British fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin accessory from Quickboost brings precisely cast fishtail exhaust stacks for a model of the British Supermarine Spitfire in the Mk.VIII version in 1:32 scale. It is not a kit, but a replacement part that swaps the simplified exhausts from the box for more faithful castings with a fine surface and flared outlets shaped like a fish tail.
On an aircraft model the exhausts are a striking detail right in the line of sight of the nose. Spitfires powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine used a row of exhaust stacks along the sides of the engine; the fishtail form had a flared outlet that helped damp the glare of the hot gases. A good casting with a realistic shape lifts the look of a finished model markedly.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent to remove mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off carefully with a saw or break them off and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Check the fit with the fuselage before gluing; the exhaust outlets can be drilled out slightly for effect and brought out with dark metal and rusty shades.
The accessory is supplied as a resin replacement part, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
