About product

Eduard 1:32 TBF/TBM Avenger engine - photo-etched set

A photo-etched set from the Czech maker Eduard in 1:32 scale intended for detailing the engine section of the TBF/TBM Avenger carrier torpedo bomber. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory fitted to a plastic kit, which adds the thin features of the engine and its cowling.

The real subject

The TBF Avenger is an American carrier torpedo bomber of the Second World War; it was also built under license by the General Motors division under the designation TBM. It was powered by a radial engine, whose details the photo-etched set refines.

Use and fitting

  • The parts are separated with a sharp knife and shaped with a bending tool or tweezers.
  • They are bonded with super glue applied in a small amount.
  • Degrease the brass before painting and lay a primer for metal over it.
  • Detail the engine section before the cowling is closed up.

Who it is for

  • Advanced modelers who want a faithful engine section.
  • Builders working in the large 1:32 scale.

This is an add-on photo-etched set. The plastic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
