A resin replacement engine cowling and cooling flaps (in the closed position) in 1:72 scale for models of the Fw 190 D-9 fighter. It is not a model but a sharpening accessory from Quickboost.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set in cast resin replaces the plastic nose cowling of the engine and the cooling flaps with a more accurate casting with a faithful shape and fine relief. The flaps are rendered in the closed position. It is an accessory that sharpens a plastic kit, not a standalone model.
The Fw 190 D-9 Dora was a late version of the German Focke-Wulf fighter from the end of the Second World War. It was powered by the Junkers Jumo 213 inverted V12 engine with a lengthened nose and an annular radiator, which gave the aircraft its characteristic long snout. The exact shape of the cowling and the cooling flaps is crucial to the credibility of a model.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), and small gaps can be filled. Lay on a filler primer before painting and choose the shade according to the color scheme you pick.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
