The set of small accessories of the Firma49 marque depicts the ammunition for the German 7.5 cm tank gun with the Kw.K. 40 designation in 1:35 scale. It serves for filling ammunition racks, for setting a scene of replenishing supplies in motion and for livening up an interior, if you are building the model with open hatches.
The long 7.5 cm Kw.K. 40 gun appeared in the spring of 1942 and turned the Panzer IV from a support vehicle into a full-fledged means of fighting tanks. In the versions with a barrel length of 43 and 48 calibers it then reached assault guns as well and became one of the most widespread German tank weapons of the war. The rounds for it were stored in the hull as well as in the turret and during replenishment the crew passed them in whole bundles, which is a rewarding subject for a diorama.
Small parts are easier to paint still before they are separated, held on a skewer or on tape. The metallic shade of the cartridge case gains depth when a thin brown wash is drawn over it. The projectile is distinguished from the cartridge case in color, so a contrast arises that catches attention in a finished scene even on an object the size of a match.
The set completes another model and does not form a vehicle by itself.
