Shapes for the glazing, the side vision panels and the lights of the light Little Bird helicopter in the AH-6J and MH-6J versions. 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Little Bird is a lightened helicopter with an egg-shaped fuselage, which special units took to for its ability to land on a roof or in a narrow alley. The letters AH denote the armed rendering carrying rocket pods and machine guns, while the MH serves to carry soldiers on side platforms. Both versions share the same shape of cabin, which is why one set covers them.
The cabin is glazed almost all the way around. Besides the rounded front, the panes under the feet, the side parts and the upper vision panels belong here, with only a few slender posts running between them. The pattern the set covers is therefore not made up of color fields but of a network of frames, and in addition rings for the position and landing lights.
The egg shape means that almost every pane is curved in two directions. Flat film will not seat on such a surface by itself; lay it on by the center, spread it to the edges with your fingers and only at the end press the corners down with a blunt point. Brief warming with lukewarm air relaxes the film and makes this easier.
Also check whether an exposed strip has been left between neighboring panes. It happens most often at the rounded front.
Once the masking is finished, apply the interior shade and, after it has dried, the exterior color of the fuselage. The lights are sprayed last in silver or clear paint over a color filter, so that they keep their gloss.
The delivery includes only cut shapes, without paints and without the helicopter model itself.
