Master Box Eastern Front Series Kit No. 1 – German infantry in action 1941–1942 (1:35) is a plastic set of German infantry from the fighting on the Eastern Front, to be assembled and painted.
Responsibility details are not available.
This figure set from the Ukrainian maker Master Box in 1:35 scale captures German infantrymen in action on the Eastern Front in 1941 to 1942. The figures are modeled in dynamic combat poses – on the move, firing and taking cover – so that together they form a coherent combat scene. It is the first part of a series devoted to the Eastern Front. The kit is injection-molded plastic, meant to be glued and painted.
In June 1941 Germany launched Operation Barbarossa, the attack on the Soviet Union. The first months brought a rapid advance by Army Groups North, Center and South toward Leningrad, Moscow and Kiev. German infantrymen wore Wehrmacht field uniforms in the feldgrau shade, helmets and the standard infantry equipment and armament typical of the early period of the war in the east.
Cut the parts from the sprue, clean up the parting lines and glue them with thin cement for plastic. A primer and painting from a darker base toward highlighted folds work well; lift the feldgrau with a fine wash into the folds and a dry brush on the edges. Work the faces and hands with glazes of skin shades. The figures come into their own in a diorama with matching terrain and vehicles.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
