Gefreiter Sappenpanzer 1917 (1:35) is a resin figure of a German soldier of the First World War in the characteristic plate body armor, from Black Dog.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a standalone resin figure in 1:35 scale to be assembled and painted. It represents a German soldier of the First World War period fitted with the so-called Sappenpanzer, the first steel body armor to be introduced in series. The casting is conceived as an accessory for a diorama or for setting into a scene at a vehicle or a trench; it is not a model of hardware in its own right.
The Sappenpanzer was German infantry body armor introduced from 1917 onward, which protected the chest, the abdomen and the groin of machine gunners, snipers and sentries in trench warfare. It was heavy and was worn mainly in static defense. The figure captures the typical uniform, helmet and equipment of a Western Front soldier of the closing stage of the war.
Before building, wash the mold release residue off the parts, cut the casting blocks off carefully and clean up the parting lines. Glue the resin with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), and sand with your airways protected. We recommend an acrylic primer as a base; the skin, the uniform and the metal surfaces of the armor can then be shaded with oils or enamel washes to bring out the detail.
It is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
