An injection-molded plastic kit of the German KFK (Kriegsfischkutter) multipurpose war cutter in the small 1:350 scale from the Ukrainian maker ICM. The kit comes from new molds and captures the typical stocky hull and the deck fittings of this versatile craft even in a small format.
The KFK was derived from a fishing cutter and was built from 1942 in Germany and in other European yards. It had a wooden hull and diesel propulsion and was among the most cost-effective projects of its day. Depending on its armament it served as a patrol and escort boat, a minesweeper, a training vessel or in anti-submarine work. It was one of the most numerous building series in German history.
In 1:350 scale, work with a sharp knife and fine sandpaper and bond the small parts with super glue. Spray the hull with a primer first and lay the paints down with an airbrush. A fine wash into the recesses and dry brushing on the edges are good for bringing the detail to life. The model shows well on a period stand or in a small water diorama.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
