This plastic kit from Dragon captures the German Sturmboot assault boat of the Second World War together with figures of combat engineers (Pioniere). In 1:35 scale it is a rewarding subject for dioramas, because it combines a small craft, an engine and a crew. The box contains injection-molded plastic parts for the boat and the figures; check the exact number of figures and accessories on the box.
The Sturmboot was a light, fast assault boat powered by a stern engine, which German engineer units used to cross rivers and water obstacles during offensive operations. Thanks to its low weight it could be carried overland and launched quickly, which made it a typical tool of the combat engineers (Pioniere) on the Eastern as well as the Western Front.
First assemble the hull of the boat and the engine, then turn to the figures. Use liquid cement for plastic and sand the hull joints carefully. The figures come out well after painting in field uniform shades and a fine wash in the folds; weather the boat with pigments and washes according to the setting (mud, water). Suitable as the basis of a water or river diorama.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
