DEF Model - photo-etched detail set for the Hetzer 1:35 lifts a kit of the German tank destroyer with fine metal details in a thickness true to scale. Intended for the Academy and Tamiya kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
This photo-etched set from the Korean manufacturer DEF Model is intended to refine a kit of the German Hetzer tank destroyer in 1:35 scale. Thin metal sheet replaces simplified or over-thick plastic parts with details in a realistic thickness and adds small items that an injection mold cannot manage. The set is designed for particular kits of this type, so check the compatibility with yours in advance. The set is intended for the Academy and Tamiya kits.
The Jagdpanzer 38, known as the Hetzer, was a light German tank destroyer on the proven chassis of the Praga 38(t) tank, built from 1944 in Czech factories. Its low silhouette, sloped armor and 75 mm gun made it a dangerous opponent from ambush, and to this day it is among the most popular subjects with modelers of German equipment.
Break the photo-etched parts out with a scalpel on a hard surface and clean the edges up with a file. Bend them with smooth-jawed tweezers or a bending tool, and glue them with small amounts of cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the parts before painting and prime them; the metal edges of the fenders and grab handles then show up beautifully under a dry brush.
The accessory is not a model kit; the base kit is not included in the package.
