A resin set of late spider-type road wheels for the Soviet T-34 and T-54 tanks in 1:35 scale from PANZER ART. It is not a vehicle kit but a detail replacement for the plastic wheels, which will sharpen up the running gear of a model.

The real subject

Lightened all-steel road wheels with a pierced disc, nicknamed spider wheels, were used on the Soviet T-34 tanks and carried over to the postwar T-54 medium tanks as well. The late form differed in the shape of the pressings and the ribs of the disc. The wheels carried a rubber tire band to cushion the ride on the track.

Usage tips

Wash the mold release agent off the wheels, cut off the casting blocks and clean the mating surfaces up. Bond with super glue, and do the sanding with respiratory protection. Set the rubber tire band apart in shade from the metal disc, then give the whole a patina of dust and mud.
