Pre-colored 3D interior decals for the M1224 MaxxPro armored vehicle in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Quinta Studio. The details have real relief and are applied like a decal.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of three-dimensional pre-colored decals for the interior of the American M1224 MaxxPro armored vehicle in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit or conventional photo-etched accessories. These are printed elements with relief, carried on decal paper: on the model they create instruments, panels, controls and upholstery that have both height and color without having to be painted. The set markedly shortens the work on the cab, which on this vehicle is clearly visible through the large glazed area.
The M1224 MaxxPro belongs to the category of vehicles resistant to mines and improvised explosive devices. It came about in response to experience from operations abroad and its identifying feature is a tall, angular body with a V-shaped hull that deflects the energy of a blast away from the crew compartment. The interior is markedly more civilian than that of an ordinary armored personnel carrier, with tall seats, belts and an instrument panel close to that of a truck, and that is exactly why pre-colored details show up so well on it.
Spray the areas under the decals with the base interior color and leave them smooth, ideally with a gloss interlayer on which a decal seats better and under which no air bubbles stay. Cut the piece out, soak it briefly and move it into place with a soft brush, press the water out from underneath and blot up the rest with a cloth. Do not use a decal softener or setter with three-dimensional decals; they would attack the printed resin. Once dry, blend the whole with flat varnish and a fine dark wash into the recesses.
