A double drum magazine for the MG 34 machine gun, 1:35 scale: an accessory to a weapon that has already been built.
Responsibility details are not available.
The double magazine consists of two joined containers fitted from above so that the weapon sits between them. It is exactly that feature which makes the silhouette unmistakable, and on a model in 1:35 scale it can be recognized even from a distance. The package covers the magazine itself, not the whole weapon.
Belt feed is flexible, but a belt tangles and gets in the way in the tight space of a vehicle. The double container offered a compact alternative with no hanging loop, at the price of a smaller supply of ammunition and longer reloading. It was therefore used above all where space was short or where short bursts were expected. Reloading also meant taking the whole assembly off, not just attaching a new end of the feed.
Check whether the shape of the top cover matches what your weapon has; the double drum takes a different cover from belt feed. Glue the magazine on only after the base coat, or a brush will not reach the lower surfaces. Keep the metal surface rather flat and add sheen only on the edges the crew touched. Pick the seam between the two containers out in a darker shade, or the double drum will merge into one smooth block.
