This injection-molded plastic kit from Tiger Model represents the French light armored reconnaissance vehicle Panhard VBL armed with the heavy M2 machine gun of 12.7 mm caliber. The set offers interior details, separately molded doors and a rear hatch that can be built in the open position, plus photo-etched parts and a decal sheet.
The Panhard VBL is a small four-wheeled armored vehicle (4x4) used for reconnaissance, liaison and patrol duties. It has been in service with the French army since the end of the 1980s and has spread to a number of other countries. It combines low weight and good mobility with protection against small arms fire and shell splinters. Fitting the M2 machine gun makes it a lightly armed patrol variant.
Given the well detailed interior, it pays to paint the inside before you close the hull. The doors and the hatch can be left open to reveal the details. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Choose the base shade according to the deployment, from French green to desert sand. Bring out the engraving with a wash and finish the dust on the chassis and the sides with pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
