An accessory external fuel tank for a model of the Pilatus PC-9 trainer in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Pilatus PC-9 is a Swiss turboprop trainer with the crew seated in tandem. It is used to train pilots in a number of countries and, depending on the task, it flies with various external equipment. An external fuel tank is among the most common stores, because it extends the range on transit flights and on longer training sorties.
The set brings an external fuel tank in 1:72 scale as an accessory to a kit of the PC-9 aircraft. The body of revolution of the tank is exactly the place where a mold parting line is hard to hide on plastic parts, so a finished part saves sanding and restoring the surface.
The part is not made of polystyrene and is bonded with cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down, so that the smooth shape is kept. Wash and degrease the part before painting, otherwise the paint is easily scraped off the smooth surface. Before gluing, check the fit against the pylon on the wing and adjust the mating surface if needed. The exact procedure is given in the instructions from the manufacturer.
The set suits modelers who want to build the PC-9 in a transit configuration with a store, and also those completing an older kit with a missing part.
The package holds the stated accessory only. The kit, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
