An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Republic F-84F Thunderstreak jet fighter-bomber in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer Kinetic. The package holds plastic parts, a clear canopy and decals for marking options of US Air Force machines. Kinetic has rendered the distinctive version with the swept wing and the tall rudder.
The Republic F-84F Thunderstreak was an American jet fighter-bomber of the 1950s which differed from its straight-winged predecessor, the F-84 Thunderjet, in its swept wing and tail surfaces and in a more powerful engine. It served with the US Air Force and with a number of NATO allies as an important strike and tactical aircraft of the Cold War. It could carry bombs as well as unguided rockets and became the backbone of many European air forces of the day.
Use a thin cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Finish and paint the cockpit before you close up the fuselage. Lay down a primer before painting; with natural metal schemes, metallic paints sprayed with an airbrush over a smooth, polished undercoat work well. Mask the canopy with trimmed tape. Pay attention to a clean fit of the intake and the swept wing, where precision in the build shows the most.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
