The flight deck fuel crew in the first treatment of the subject, the scene 1 form, in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Figures capturing the moment when aviation fuel is put into a machine on the deck of a modern carrier. The scene 1 qualifier belongs to the first treatment of the subject; the second form offers a different arrangement, so the groups can be joined into one larger setting without repeating the same stances.
Refueling often goes on between two flights, when the machine is still hot and time is pressing. The crew run the hose out from the station to the aircraft, connect it, watch the grounding and once it is over wind everything back again. Without that, a sortie could not be repeated at hourly intervals. It is precisely this part of an ordinary day that is seen least in display cases, even though it says more about operations than a motionless machine on a base.
The face decides whether a figure reads as alive. It pays to lay it in with a mid skin tone, let a thinned warm shade into the hollows and gently lighten the forehead, the nose and the cheekbones. At this size the eyes only need suggesting with a dark line; a full white with an iris looks unnatural. Finish the helmet and the ear defenders at the very end, so that it is clear where the skin ends and the equipment begins.
