This is a detail accessory for a kit of the light M151A1 off-road vehicle, not a model of the vehicle. The wheels are cast with the tire shaped as if the weight of the vehicle were acting on it — the contact area is slightly flattened and the sidewall bulges above it. On a light vehicle with large wheels this detail is especially visible. The distinguishing item is the designation for the early version; DEF Model keeps other variants of wheels for this type in the same range, so the designation matters. The M151 was an American light off-road vehicle that from the 1960s replaced older types derived from the war. It differed from its predecessors in a unitary body and independent suspension all round. The M151A1 version brought modifications to the suspension and partial design changes; the vehicle served for long decades in many roles, from liaison duty to a weapons carrier.
First wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent to remove remains of the mold release agent. Cut the casting block off with a saw and level the contact area wet, so that the vehicle stands straight on all its wheels; protect your airways while sanding. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer, paint the tire in a dark gray shade rather than pure black and the rim according to the color of the vehicle. Bring the tread out with a dry brush, apply fine dust to the sidewall and dust the underside of the vehicle and the wheel arches with pigment matching the terrain.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Check the match with the kit you are building before buying.
