Pre-cut masks for the deck of a model of the Russian battleship Gangut of the First World War period in 1:350 scale. The accessory from the manufacturer Artwox Model is cut for the particular kit named with this product; please check before buying that this is the one you have, because the outlines of decks differ between individual models.
Of the whole range of deck accessories a masking sheet is the easiest to manage. It calls for no work with super glue, it does not punish slow decisions the way self-adhesive veneer does, and if the spraying does not come off, the deck can be sanded down and painted again. For a modeler who does not yet feel up to veneer and photo-etched parts it is a sensible first step, and one that can be tried out on a less important model in the collection.
An airbrush, two close wood shades, tweezers and patience. The base tone is sprayed and left to cure, then the masks are laid on and the second tone is sprayed. In light coats, at lower pressure and perpendicular to the surface: these are the three rules that separate a crisp pattern of planks from a smeared area. The rest is only careful removal of the film and any retouching with a thin brush.
This is an accessory to a kit, not a model. The paints, the glue and the kit are not included in the package.
