The kit from Very Fire treats the American battleship of the Montana class in 1:350 scale and is offered in the version marked DX, that is in a premium form beyond the basic release. In this scale it is a large project for several dozen hours of work. Check the contents of the premium package against the details on the box.
The Montana class was the last American design of a classic battleship. Against the preceding Iowa class it was to carry a stronger main armament in four gun turrets and to have a markedly greater beam, because the design was no longer bound by the dimensions of the canal. The speed, by contrast, was to be reduced in favor of the armor. Construction was canceled in 1943 in favor of aircraft carriers, so no ship of the class was completed. The model therefore depicts a projected state, not an existing vessel, and that is precisely why it is popular among collectors.
Start with the hull: its shape and the trueness of the deck determine the whole rest of the build, so rather leave one half of the joint under pressure overnight. Fit the deck equipment, the railings and the fine parts only once the basic areas are painted, otherwise you will necessarily damage them while masking. It proves itself to build in sections, that is the bow, the superstructures and the stern separately, and to join them only once they are finished. Do the painting with an airbrush, as the camouflage schemes of American ships work with sharp boundaries between the shades, which call for masking. At the end reckon with a stand or a display case, as a model of this size has no business on an open shelf.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
