Mustang GT4 Grey is a gray shade from the Number 5 range. The paints in this line carry the names of automotive paints, so the shade aims above all at the bodies of car models. It can of course be used outside car models as well, anywhere a gray surface fits.
Stir the contents of the bottle thoroughly before use. The pigment settles at the bottom, and unstirred paint comes out in a different shade and with a different covering power once dry. It can be applied with an airbrush or with a brush, and the thinning ratio and the recommended thinner are given in the manufacturer's instructions. Spray in several thin coats and let the surface flash off between them. One heavy coat floods fine detail, gathers into drops on the edges and takes far longer to dry.
Gray is treacherous in that it hides nothing. On a large body surface every transition between plastic, filler and a sanded spot stands out, so before the top shade it pays to unify the ground with a primer and look at the surface against the light. The shade also changes its effect with how the light falls on the model, so judge the result only on a dry model and away from the work lamp.
