Heller offers two subjects at once in one box: the characteristic van with corrugated sheet and a trailer for carrying goods to go with it. The set is injection-molded in polystyrene, supplemented by rubber parts, a decal sheet and instructions. The pair of vehicles creates a small setting in itself, which works well on a diorama too.
The Type H was among the longest-built commercial vehicles in Europe. It came about in the postwar years and stayed in the range for almost four decades with practically no change of shape. Its hallmark was the corrugated sheet of the body, which gave the thin steel its stiffness, along with front-wheel drive taken over from the passenger car program and a low floor that made loading easier. In France it served as a mobile shop, a baker's van and a tradesman's vehicle.
The corrugated sheet is the main ornament of the model, so fill carefully and take the sanding along the grooves, so as not to round them off. Apply the paint in thinner coats, so that the profile is not clogged. Once it is dry, bring the pressings out with a darker flowing paint and on the contrary lighten the edges slightly. The trailer deserves a different degree of wear from the towing vehicle; a small difference gives the setting credibility.
