The AH-1G Cobra is an American attack helicopter with a narrow fuselage, a cabin laid out in tandem for two men, stub wings for external stores and skid landing gear. It is precisely the narrow cabin with a multitude of frames that makes its glazing one of the most laborious parts of a build. The set is carried for the form with the designation Arctic Cobra.

What the set contains

Masking elements for a model of the AH-1G in 1:48 scale. The designation In and Out means that the masking is done from both sides, that is, from inside the cabin as well, so the frames stay covered even when seen through the glazing. Which particular areas the set covers is given in the manufacturer's instructions.

Building and painting tips

• Wash and degrease the glazing before masking; on a greasy surface a mask does not hold.
• Stick the inner masks on before the cabin is closed up.
• Press the edges down with a toothpick or a blunt wooden stick, not with a fingernail.
• Spray several weak coats; a thick coat tears at the edge of the mask.
• Take the mask off as soon as the paint goes tacky, and peel it at an angle, not straight up.
