1:48 B-17G. Masks (HK Models) is a set of painting masks for the glazing, not a kit. It is cut for the HK Models kit in 1:48 scale and serves for spraying the frames of the clear parts cleanly.

This item is an accessory for the build, not a model of the airplane. It contains painting masks cut to the shape of the clear parts; they are stuck on the clear part, oversprayed with the color of the frames and taken off once the paint has dried. The set is cut for the HK Models kit in 1:48 scale. That piece of information matters, because the manufacturer also makes an identically named set for the Revell and Monogram kits, and the two differ precisely in which kit they fit. With a four-engined bomber that has a large number of windows and gun positions, masking is one of the most time-consuming operations of the whole build.
The Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress is the last and most numerously produced version of the four-engined B-17 bomber. You recognize it from the earlier versions by the remotely operated chin turret under the nose, the modified waist positions and other details of the defensive armament. The machine is characterized by a glazed nose with the navigator's and bombardier's positions, a glazed pilots' cockpit and a row of further windows and ports along the whole length of the fuselage. That is exactly what makes a model of the B-17G in 1:48 scale a large project that is demanding in masking work.
Wash and degrease the clear parts. Take the masks out of the sheet with a sharp knife and transfer them with tweezers straight onto the place where the glazing is to stay transparent. Press the edges down thoroughly, and on the glazed nose pay attention to the transitions between the individual panes. Cut any uncovered sections from the waste material of the sheet or complete them with narrow masking tape. Spray the frames first in the interior shade and then in the exterior finish, each time in several thin coats. Take the masks off shortly after the paint has dried, slowly and at a sharp angle.
The set contains only masking parts. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
