A richly equipped set for the Emil in the E-3 form, 1:48 scale. It covers the glazing from the outer and the reverse face, adds a pair of marks for the insignia, decals and four metal weapons, two MG 17 machine guns and two wing MG FF cannons.
Responsibility details are not available.
The E-3 version brought the Messerschmitt its first really heavy armament: two 20 mm MG FF cannons were added in the wings to the pair of machine guns above the engine. The weapon had a low muzzle velocity and a magazine of sixty rounds, so the pilot fired short bursts from close in. The angular cockpit canopy with its many frames makes the Emil the most demanding piece to mask among the Messerschmitts, because there are nearly twice as many frames here as on the later versions.
The package contains masking of both sides of the glazing, two marks for the fuselage crosses, a decal sheet and four metal weapons. The pattern for the shapes is the Tamiya kit.
A plastic part has the shape of a cone without an opening, and even after drilling the wall stays so thick that the muzzle looks blind. A turned tube, by contrast, has a through opening and seen from the front a dark point is visible in the wing, which on plastic cannot be achieved even by painting. The difference is noticeable in a photograph of the finished model.
