Green 17ml

Vallejo Model Air Green 17 ml

The basic green shade from the Model Air acrylic range in a 17 ml dropper bottle. The paint is opaque, that is it is not a tinting medium or a clear coat — it is applied as a full layer. The binder is acrylic, so it is thinned with water or with the acrylic thinner of the same manufacturer; it cannot be mixed with lacquer or cellulose thinners. In modeling practice green shades are most often the base for further work: they are lightened, darkened, filtered and completed with a wash, and a universal green suits that better than a narrowly specified camouflage tone.

Use

• Shake the bottle — the pigment in green shades settles readily, and unshaken paint sprays unevenly.
• Apply two or three thin coats; saturated greens cover well, but one heavy coat clogs the detail.
• For modulation, measure a few drops out separately and add white or light yellow for lightening, or dark brown for shadows.
• Before applying decals, coat the surface with a gloss clear compatible with acrylic, so that no silvering occurs under the decal.
• Rinse the airbrush immediately after you have finished spraying; dried acrylic is far harder to remove from the nozzle.

Who the paint is for

A universal green is a rewarding working shade for anyone who sprays with an airbrush — it serves for vehicles, accessories, diorama features and as a component when mixing your own tones. It will also be appreciated by modelers who are only starting with an airbrush, because the paint needs no complicated preparation and forgives small mistakes in thinning. With a brush you will use it for details and repairs.
