The set from the Polish company MASTER in 1:48 scale holds turned metal barrels of the wing-mounted Browning .30 cal machine guns and a pitot tube of the US type for the American version of the Curtiss P-40B/C fighter. It is not an aircraft model but a precise replacement part which replaces the plastic barrels and the pitot tube from the box with faithful metal parts.
The Curtiss P-40 was an American fighter aircraft of the beginning of the Second World War, widely deployed with the Allied air forces. The early P-40B/C (Tomahawk) versions carried .30 cal machine guns in the wings to supplement the heavier machine guns in the nose. The American version had its own type of pitot tube, which differed from the British one; this set is aimed precisely at the American machines.
You cut off the plastic barrels and the pitot tube, drill the holes and glue the metal parts in with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Degrease them before painting and go over them with a metal primer. The fine metal barrels and the pitot tube will give the model precise and durable details.
This is a detailing accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
