An injection-molded plastic kit of the American fifth-generation F-35B Lightning II multirole stealth fighter in 1:48 scale from Italeri. It is a completely new tooling with entirely new molds and fine surface detail. The model captures the STOVL version capable of a short take-off and a vertical landing. The box contains a clear canopy and decals for the marking options.
The F-35B Lightning II is the version of the American fifth-generation multirole fighter intended for short take-off and vertical landing (STOVL). Thanks to a lift fan behind the cockpit and a swiveling main nozzle it can operate from short runways and from the decks of modern aircraft carriers and helicopter carriers. The aircraft combines a reduced radar signature, advanced sensor fusion and multirole armament, and it serves with the US Marine Corps and with a number of allies.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Finish and paint the cockpit and the bays before you close the fuselage. Apply a primer before painting and put the colors on with an airbrush; on the gray low-visibility scheme, subtle shading of the individual panels and discreet emphasis of the lines stand out. Mask the canopy with cut tape. On the STOVL version, pay attention to the correct fit of the lift fan parts.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
