An injection-molded plastic model of the Taiwanese fighter AIDC F-CK-1C Ching-Kuo in single-seat form, in 1:48 scale from the Taiwanese brand Freedom Model Kits. It is the 2in1 release — the package makes it possible to build two aircraft. A metal pitot tube, a 3D-printed figure of a female pilot and a poster are included as well. The exact number of parts and schemes is not stated here until it has been verified.
The F-CK-1 Ching-Kuo is a Taiwanese supersonic fighter known as the IDF (Indigenous Defense Fighter). It was developed by the Taiwanese company AIDC in the 1980s, at a time when Taiwan had limited access to foreign fighters, and the aircraft was named after Chiang Ching-kuo, the son of the former president Chiang Kai-shek. It serves with the Republic of China Air Force for the defense of the airspace; the C version is the single-seat combat variant. In design terms it resembles a smaller twin-engine fighter of Western style.
Glue the plastic parts with a liquid modeling cement for plastic, and fill and sand the joints. Bond the metal pitot tube and the 3D-printed figure with super glue (cyanoacrylate); clean the 3D-printed parts first. Glue the canopy glazing on only after the frames have been varnished and protect it with masking tape. Apply a base (primer) before painting, spray the modern gray schemes with an airbrush in thin coats and bring out the panel lines with a flowing wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
