The Gotha Go-242B Markings airbrush mask set from MH models in 1:48 scale serves to spray the markings onto a model of the transport glider in paint instead of using decals.

A masking set from MH models in 1:48 scale for spraying the markings onto a model of the Gotha Go 242B transport glider. The contents are masking templates, not parts of the model and not decals. On a glider with the large angular surfaces of its fuselage pod and with an extensive wing, sprayed markings pay off especially well: a decal lies down with difficulty over edges and fabric surfaces and tends to silver on a matte surface.
The Go 242 was a German transport glider with a twin-boom tail and a short cargo pod, into which even a small vehicle or a load could be put thanks to a hinged rear. Compared with the older, smaller glider it was a substantially larger machine with a higher load capacity. The B version differs from the A variant above all in the solution of the landing gear: it received a wheeled undercarriage instead of mere skids, so it could be handled more easily on the ground. The glider got into the air on tow behind a powered aircraft.
Finish the model in its base coat and let the paint cure. Seat the template in place and press it down all round the outline; on large flat areas it helps to press outward from the center, so that no air is left under the film. Cover the surroundings with tape and paper, because on a long wing overspray carries a long way. Spray the paint in several very thin coats perpendicular to the edge of the mask. Spray multi-color insignia layer by layer and mask again between the steps. Remove them shortly after the paint has dried. A final matte varnish evens out the sheen of the sprayed markings with the rest of the surface.
This is a masking set, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
