Resin Hawker Typhoon landing gear bays (1:48): a resin replacement for the gear bays, for a faithful underside on a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin detail set intended for a faithful rendering of the landing gear bays of a model of the British Hawker Typhoon fighter-bomber in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that replaces the shallow or simplified bays from a plastic kit with crisply cast parts with rendered structure of ribs, piping and walls. Once installed, the underside of the model and the open bays gain a realistic depth that shows on a model with the landing gear extended.
The Hawker Typhoon was a British single-seat fighter-bomber of the Second World War powered by the massive Napier Sabre engine. Originally designed as a fighter, it made its name above all as a destroyer of ground targets, attacking them with bombs and rockets, chiefly after the Normandy landings. Its rugged silhouette and the deep radiator chin under the engine are characteristic.
First wash the parts to remove mold release residue and only then glue and paint them. Cut off the casting blocks carefully with a saw and sand the cut surfaces. Bond the resin with super glue (cyanoacrylate): ordinary cement for plastic does not hold on resin. Before gluing them in, the openings in the kit usually need a little reworking, so the set is for the more experienced. Sand wet and protect your airways.
This is a resin accessory, not a model or a stand-alone kit. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
