IAI Kfir C2/C7 landing gear bays 1:48 is a resin detail set from Aires for refining the gear bays of the Israeli fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set brings resin castings of the landing gear bays for the Israeli IAI Kfir fighter in the C2 and C7 versions in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail accessory that replaces the shallow or simplified bays from the kit with accurate compartments carrying relief on the walls, the stiffeners and the piping. The result is a far more realistic view into the landing gear.
The Kfir is an Israeli multirole fighter derived from the Dassault Mirage airframe, into which Israel fitted its own equipment and an American J79 series turbojet. The C2 version received fixed canards on the air intakes, and the definitive C7 then a more powerful engine and more modern equipment.
First wash the resin castings in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent to deal with any mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off carefully with a saw or break them off, and sand the surfaces with your airways protected. Bond the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The bays are usually glued into the fuselage or the wing once the mating surfaces have been cleaned up; check the fit before the glue sets. Shade the inside with a light base color, bring out the recesses with a dark wash and weather it lightly.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
