Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale that captures the early Soviet MiG-17 jet fighter. The model comes from the Czech manufacturer Kovozavody Prostejov and is based on an older mold with a newly worked fuselage. The box holds plastic sprues, a clear canopy and a decal sheet. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The MiG-17 (NATO reporting name Fresco) was a Soviet subsonic to transonic fighter of the early 1950s that followed on from the successful MiG-15 and brought an aerodynamically improved swept wing. The early version known as the Fresco-A spread widely in many countries and became one of the most numerous fighters of its era.
The kit will reward careful sanding of the fuselage joints and the leading edge of the wing. Detail the cockpit before you close it up. For faithful bare metal and gray surfaces use a primer, an airbrush and a gloss coat under the decals; a final matte or semi-gloss coat will even out the surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
