1:48 Mikoyan MiG-21UM ADVANCED kabuki masks (Trumpeter)

New Ware 1:48 Mikoyan MiG-21UM ADVANCED kabuki masks

The extended level of the New Ware mask set for two-seat MiG-21UM models in 1:48 scale. The ADVANCED level goes beyond the basic BASIC set — besides the glazing frames and the wheels it also covers further areas and details that need to be kept apart while painting. It is an aid for clean spraying, not a set of model parts.

The real subject

The MiG-21UM is the two-seat trainer version of the Soviet supersonic MiG-21 fighter, with a lengthened cockpit for two seats. It served for pilot training and was widespread in a number of air forces around the world.

Use

• Press the masks onto degreased surfaces, smooth the edges down and spray the individual parts in turn.
• Kabuki tape follows curved surfaces, holds a crisp edge and leaves no adhesive when removed.
• Work in layers and remove a mask while the paint has not yet hardened.
• Suitable for an airbrush; cover the remaining areas with liquid mask or tape.

Who the set is for

For modelers who want accurate painting of the cockpit and other details without lengthy masking by hand. It is intended for MiG-21UM models in the scale given, specifically for the Trumpeter kit; the kit and paints are not included.
