A photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard intended to upgrade a plastic model of the Mi-24D helicopter in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory that replaces and adds the fine detail that injection-molded plastic cannot capture faithfully.
Parts of thin brass sheet make it possible to fit a model with more accurate features of the cockpit and the exterior alike. The thin profile of photo-etch reads more realistically than heavier plastic parts and, once painted, markedly raises the level of a finished model.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface, and make the bends over a metal ruler or in a photo-etch bending tool. They glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate); before painting, treat the metal with a primer for the sake of adhesion.
The set holds only the photo-etched parts. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
