The set brings color, three-dimensionally raised cockpit details for models of the two-seat Mitsubishi F-2B multirole aircraft in 1:48 scale. They are 3D decals printed on backing decal paper, neither photo-etch nor cast resin. The instrument panels and the side consoles have recessed displays, three-dimensional controls and color lettering characteristic of a modern glass cockpit. The target kit is Hasegawa.
The Mitsubishi F-2 is a Japanese multirole combat aircraft based on the design of the F-16, developed for the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. The F-2B version is the two-seat training and combat variant with two tandem cockpits and modern avionics.
Coat the area under the decal with a gloss clear coat (Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22) and let it dry. Cut the element out, soak it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the paper into place in both cockpits. It has no adhesive layer of its own and holds on the gloss coat; on intricate shapes a drop of cyanoacrylate helps. Do not use a decal softener or a setting solution: they will attack the printed resin. Build the layers up according to the instructions.
This is an accessory for detailing, not a standalone model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
