This detail set contains a resin (3D-printed) nose cone with a faithful pitot tube for the F-105 Thunderchief fighter-bomber in the D and G versions. It replaces the simplified nose of a plastic model with a precisely shaped part with the right profile and a fine tube. It is not an aircraft kit but a refining accessory.
The F-105 Thunderchief was an American supersonic fighter-bomber used intensively in the Vietnam War; the F-105G Wild Weasel version served to suppress air defenses. The characteristic slender nose with its pitot tube is among the striking features of its silhouette.
Wash the part to remove any mold release agent, cut off the casting block and sand the surface with your airways protected. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Fit the fine pitot tube carefully at the very end of the build so that it does not get damaged.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
