A color 3D decal from Quinta Studio in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit and not etch: it is raised, fully colored cockpit detail on backing decal paper, transferred onto the model by soaking in water. The set improves the instrument panel, the side consoles and the seat of a model of the British Hawker Hurricane fighter. The decals are shaped for the parts of the Airfix kit.
The Hawker Hurricane was a British fighter which, together with the Spitfire, formed the backbone of Britain's defense in the Battle of Britain. Its cockpit with a tube frame has a characteristically busy interior, which this set sharpens up and brings to life with color.
Go over the surfaces of the cockpit beforehand with a gloss clear coat (Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22). Cut the part out, soak it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the backing paper into place with tweezers. The part has no adhesive layer of its own and holds on the gloss coat; on a complex surface a drop of super glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as they attack the printed resin.
This is an accessory, not an aircraft model. The kit itself and the paints are not included in the package.
