1:48 N1K1 Kyofu Type 11, double-sided self-adhesive mask is a pre-cut set of masks for the outer and the inner side of the glazing of a model of the Japanese floatplane fighter in 1:48 scale. Intended for the Tamiya kit.

A self-adhesive pre-cut Art Scale masking set for a model of the Kawanishi N1K1 Kyofu floatplane fighter in 1:48 scale. The double-sided version means that the masks are prepared for the outer and the inner side of the clear parts. The canopy framing can thus be sprayed from inside in the interior shade and from outside in the covering finish of the airframe, without reaching for a brush. The set is an accessory for a kit; the model, paints and glue are not in the box. The masks are cut for the Tamiya kit.
When to reach for a double-sided set
On this type the bubble canopy can also be built open, and the interior is then clearly visible. An untreated frame shows through from inside as bare transparent plastic, and a double-sided set deals with it by spraying, that is, evenly and without brush marks.
The Kawanishi N1K1 Kyofu was a Japanese single-seat fighter with a large central float and a pair of outrigger floats under the wing, powered by a radial engine. It was created for operation from stretches of water in regions without fixed airfields. A land version with conventional landing gear later grew out of its design. What appeals to modelers about it is the combination of a slender fuselage and a massive float arrangement.
Start with the inner side: stick the masks on, spray the interior shade and let it dry. Only then deal with the outside. Before that, wash the clear part in lukewarm water with detergent and let it air dry. Lay the masks on one at a time with tweezers, do not stretch them on the rounded canopy and press the edges down carefully with a blunt toothpick. Spray thin coats with a pause between them. Take them off shortly after the paint has dried, lift a corner with a scalpel and pull at an angle along the surface.
The box holds masks only. The kit, paints and glue are not included.
