Hasegawa 1:48 P-47D-25 Thunderbolt is an injection-molded plastic kit of the American P-47D Thunderbolt fighter in the version with the bubble canopy.

This injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa captures the heavy American Republic P-47D Thunderbolt fighter in the D-25 block version. It was from this block on that the Thunderbolt received the new bubble canopy, which markedly improved the pilot's view. The model has engraved surface detail and clear cockpit parts.
The P-47 Thunderbolt was among the heaviest single-engine fighters of the Second World War. It was powered by the powerful Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine with a turbocharger. The version with the bubble canopy brought an all-round view to the rear. The Thunderbolt excelled as an escort fighter and as a tough ground-attack and strike aircraft.
Assemble and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage. Use thin modeling cement on the plastic, and sand the joins so that the surface detail is preserved. The base is primer, and the metal surfaces come out well with metallic paints. Apply gloss varnish before the decals, and matte varnish will unify the surface at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
