Replacement exhausts for a model of the P-51D Mustang fighter in 1:48 scale. They replace the parts from a kit in a clearly visible place on the sides of the engine cowling.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set replaces the exhausts on a model of the P-51D Mustang aircraft in 1:48 scale. The exhaust stubs stand out on both sides of the fuselage right behind the engine cowling, that is in the place where the eye stops first on a finished model. That is exactly why it pays to give them more attention than other small things: they have thin edges, a pronounced shape and, when painted, they carry the strongest traces of use on the whole aircraft.
The P-51D is an American single-seat fighter from the Second World War. You recognize it by the teardrop canopy and the lowered fuselage spine behind the cockpit, thanks to which the pilot had a view to the rear. It was powered by a liquid-cooled V12 engine whose exhaust gases left precisely through the stubs on the sides of the forward fuselage.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that you do not touch the shape of the stubs. Try the seating dry and adapt the surface on the model as needed. The parts are not of polystyrene and glue for polystyrene does not hold on them; use superglue and wash and degrease the joint beforehand. The painting will take a dark base, rusty and brown shades over it and finally thin dark traces that continue behind the exhausts back along the fuselage.
The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
