A plastic kit of the Polish light high-wing monoplane RWD-13 in 1:48 scale, in the form of civil-operated machines.
Responsibility details are not available.
The RWD-13 is a Polish light aircraft of the middle of the 1930s, built for touring, liaison flights and carrying passengers. It is a single-engine high-wing monoplane with struts under the wing, fixed landing gear and an enclosed cabin for a pilot and two passengers. The design was directed toward the shortest possible take-off and landing run, so the machine got by with a small grass strip where a larger aircraft would not have got down. It was built in Warsaw, sold well and flew outside Poland too.
A plastic kit in 1:48 scale. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, so to finish it you will need glue, paints and ordinary modeling tools. The form is aimed at machines in civil operation; the choice of markings and the list of shades are in the instructions.
With an aircraft that has a glazed cabin, the order of the work decides everything. Paint and fit the interior before you join the fuselage halves, because afterwards you will no longer get inside and a good deal is visible through the glazing. Mask the glazing with narrow strips of tape and fit it with a product for clear parts. Try the struts under the wing dry and glue them only once the wing is held at the right angle; a strut set hard in the wrong position will twist the whole surface. Civil finishes tend to be smooth and glossy, so level the surface carefully before painting, as gloss brings out every unevenness.
For modelers interested in interwar aviation and civil machines, and for anyone looking in 1:48 scale for something other than a fighter. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
