A plastic kit of the Polish light aircraft RWD-13 in 1:48 scale, in a form tied to the Spanish Civil War.
Responsibility details are not available.
The RWD-13 was a Polish light strut-braced high-wing monoplane with fixed landing gear and an enclosed cabin for three people. It arose in the middle of the 1930s as a touring and liaison machine and proved itself by managing without a paved runway: it took off and landed on a short grass strip. That is precisely why it exported well and machines of this type appeared even far from Poland. Light aircraft in those days carried out the tasks for which it would have been a waste to send a large machine, that is, courier and liaison flights, carrying passengers and evacuating the wounded.
A plastic kit in 1:48 scale. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The form is tied to the Spanish Civil War; the choice of markings, the list of shades and the order of assembly are in the instructions in the package.
Try the parts dry before gluing and, if need be, level the joints by sanding; half a minute extra during the test saves later filling and sanding. It pays to thin the trailing edges of the wing and the tail surfaces; a thin edge is more visible on a finished model than most of the other details. Glue the landing gear with the model standing on a flat board, so that both wheels stand in one plane and the model does not rock. If you are going to apply decals, prepare a smooth gloss surface for them; on a matte coat silvery patches appear under the decal.
For modelers who collect interwar hardware and machines of the 1930s, and for anyone looking in 1:48 scale for an unusual subject. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
