This resin detail set holds faithfully cast barrels of the wing cannon of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IXc fighter in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory for the kit that replaces the simplified plastic barrels with more precise parts with fine detail. It is not a stand-alone model of the aircraft.
The Spitfire Mk. IX is a British single-engine fighter of the Second World War, powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. The c-type wing carried an armament made up among other things of a pair of 20 mm cannon. The protruding barrels are among the items that easily turn brittle in plastic or lose their accurate shape.
Wash the parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Handle the thin barrels carefully; once painted in metallic shades they look faithful.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin accessory for the kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
